About the Sculpture
Jaume Plensa’s largest work, Water’s Soul is created from 108 unique interconnecting sections. Each section is composed of fiberglass and an acyclic composite skin which is supported by a stainless steel skeleton. The pieces are joined together by the internal skeleton. The Sculpture was initially fabricated and then constructed in Jaume Plensa’s studio in [Barcelona], Spain for review and approval of the artist. It was then disassembled and shipped to Newport where it was re-assembled over the course of two weeks.
The sculpture was opened to the public on October 21, 2021.
